I HAVE WRITTEN A POEM

I HAVE WRITTEN A POEM

I have written a poem
Bourne out of the deepest core of my reality
A poem written out of fear
Fear suffered out of pain
Pain as a result of a bitter past
I have written a poem of how the African gracefully broke the chains of slavery
And also a poem of how even in independence, the African survives on Charity

This poem I wrote
Holds the keys to a doors of hope for a better tomorrow
A tomorrow who's yesterday is today
A today filled with blurred visions
Blurred visions of a tomorrows of hope
This poem would make a difference
This poem would change the sequence
This poem would ignite resistance
But this poem wouldn't breed disobedience

So don't think its all fashion when you see my eyes locked 24/7 behind shades
Because it might just be my own way of hiding my vision from the lights of shattered dreams
The dreams of yesterdays hope
A hope still being hoped against hopes of tomorrow
But until then, I just have a dream
A dream achieved fully in writing
So I have written a poem
And this is the poem I wrote
...

THE MODERN DAY CHRISTIAN

THE MODERN DAY CHRISTIAN

I am a Christian
An upgraded version of You
I am the cleanest
Soaked and washed with His Blood
I do no wrong
Cos I have Christ in me
These are your confessions
But little or none of the above are seen in your Actions
Sorry,
For I choose to be different
And you can label me ancient
I won't be your type of Christian
Who's only bit Christianity in seen when seen when in the midst of fellow men
Accepting every bit blessing from the preacher
But speaks curses even in the presence of the Divine Healer
Call me a boring Christian
And I'd smile, coz to me, your Christianity is like a dead lion in chains
Just like a labourer working in vain
Aggressive but faithless
Heaven bound with a blurred vision
You fed me when I was hungry
And to the public, U told my sorry story
I won't be that Christian who'd only smile to sermons on success
And frown at those hitting on spiritual and physical progress
You expect greater works
Even after confessing with thy mouth destructive Words
I won't be your type of Christian who has a problem when it comes to giving
But is the quickest to should Amen and I Receive it to prophesies on receiving
Serving God in your Modern way still remains a give and take affair
Praise him and have all your burdens erased
Fast, coz that's the only way to get your rewards faster
Worship, and you'd have your spiritual warship activated
Breast fed Christian with bone cracking teeth
That is all we are
All we seek to be
And all we'd been led to become
The modern day Christian

I Choose To Write

I
Write
I Write
I Choose to Write
Because in writing I can share feelings never felt
In writing I can live dreams dreamt
In writing I express emotions felt and feared
I can feel high, no need for weed
Just sincere expressions only expressed through my thought to my fingertips
For every pain U caused me, I just choose to write
Because in writing, I express my anger
And still offends none, just a pad, a keypad, my keyboard and my touch screen

I
Wrote
I wrote of my victories and failures
Wrote about those sweet times
The bitter sweet
The ugly
Ups and Down
Rejections
Appreciations
Heartbreaks
Breakthroughs
I wrote in an attempt to fix the wrong
Even though I have never been right
So for all this moments I kept writing
And I wrote
And narrowed my pain to none
Just a Pad, a keypad, my keyboard and my touch screen

I have Written
And for all those moments I wrote
I build a virtual relationship with myself
In writing , I shared my pain
Celebrated my gains
Rise and fall
And how I kept rising after every fall
All this I shared
With none but myself
I have written
Because I wrote
And I would write
Because,
I just choose to Write.....

My Prayer

MY PRAYER

First,
I pray we go all through our hustles and still live lives that sees tomorrow
And yes, even though we get broke sometimes, I pray we never see ground zero
I pray we walk daily with cheeks filled consistently with smiles
And for our pains and hurts, still smile, even though life sometimes taste like bile

Secondly,
I pray we loose no lovers
Death might come, but if it has to do with loosing, Lord let's jux loose haters
Lord, give me the strength to walk a mile in my own shoes
Yes, I pray for the heart of gratitude, jux so I can appreciate U for me cos one man's win might jux be my loose

Not A Blame Game

I am not here to play the blame game
Neither do I come deliver the crown of Shame
I am here just to free my mind
And very sorry if it wouldn't be what you term "your kind"

So ECG, this one goes to you
And don't think I'd blame Mahama for things you couldn't do
It feels like you are our nemesis
So shocked at how you can be consistent in your inconsistencies
And now very inconsistent in your inconsistencies
12/24
That what you said
And now, none at all
Into the system, that's what you fed

My Mum's First Television Set

MY MUM'S FIRST TELEVISION SET

The journey to Sister Vivian's home always came with a bliss. It only meant one thing and i know most people who grew up in my generation would appreciate that fact too cos that journey meant I was going to watch TV, yes !! I was going to watch all those stuff i didn't understand but just the fact that I was sitting behind a screen felt so good..

I could wake the following morning and brag about the fact that I was at Sister Vivian's home to watch tv, the level of bragging was different if it has to do with something I understood, like the watching the " Captain Planet Series ", wow, all the kids around my age who weren't fortunate enough to watch Captain Planet that day would be around me all day just so I'd tell them what the planeteers did this time round to save the planet against the Captain Pollution and his counterparts ..

WORK FOR YOUR TURN

WORK FOR YOUR TURN

I remember seeing a post on Facebook with the image of Archbishop Nicholas Duncan Williams attached to it which read, " Wait for you Turn ".. I decided to wait and read the post before i sleep but thanks to ECG for bringing the light just around the same time and giving me reasons enough to do any other thing that light could allow me to aside reading from my laptop, now I can't even find the post and the one who posted it too...What hurts most is that I also can't tell if that's something the Archbishop said or it was something written by someone with reference to the Archbishop, all the same I think I'd differ in both ways... Times have change and people have stopped waiting for their turns, people are now " WORKING FOR THEIR TURNS ".... And not only are people working for working sake but people are now working really hard and connecting themselves to people who'd link them to their short term goal and future dreams..
