WORK FOR YOUR TURN

WORK FOR YOUR TURN

I remember seeing a post on Facebook with the image of Archbishop Nicholas Duncan Williams attached to it which read, " Wait for you Turn ".. I decided to wait and read the post before i sleep but thanks to ECG for bringing the light just around the same time and giving me reasons enough to do any other thing that light could allow me to aside reading from my laptop, now I can't even find the post and the one who posted it too...What hurts most is that I also can't tell if that's something the Archbishop said or it was something written by someone with reference to the Archbishop, all the same I think I'd differ in both ways... Times have change and people have stopped waiting for their turns, people are now " WORKING FOR THEIR TURNS ".... And not only are people working for working sake but people are now working really hard and connecting themselves to people who'd link them to their short term goal and future dreams..

Years back, people had to wait for the death or retirement of the boss of their bosses so they can at least move up a bit higher the ladder of position at their work places but it isn't same at the moment cos young men and women are retiring their bosses from their position just because the choose to work hard at acquiring the requisite knowledge and skills that would enable them manage the affairs of multinational companies...

In recent times, we have seen the rise of young entrepreneurs who have broken bound and done things which were previously only done by " older men " in higher positions just because they decided not to wait but rather work for their turns.
We have also seen musician, sportsmen and creative people clocking gold and platinum in their various fields just because they decided to bend the rules by breaking away from tradition and journeying new paths.. It's never been easy for those who take those steps but for the perceived victory, it's always worth it... One might ask, what if it doesn't work out as planned ? and my answer is simple, What if it works out as planned ? At the end of the day, one has wealth of experience as consolation and it only can get better ....
So why wait when you can break out, set out on a different path and stand out ?
